The Ego Eimi's of Jesus

"Ego eimi" is the transliteration of the Greek  εγω ειμι which means, "I am".  In the New Testament, most of the uses of ego eimi are by Jesus.  It is used repeatedly by Jesus as part of His claim of deity, especially in the book of John.  (For a good explanation of why saying "ego eimi" would be a claim of deity, click here.)

I found it helpful and stirring to see all of the times Jesus said "ego eimi".  Here's a list, from the English Standard Version (www.esvbible.org)

Matt 14:27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”
